McVeigh's 30-point game gives him Player of the Week award

29-year old Australian forward Jack McVeigh (203-F-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for second-ranked Capitanes de Arecibo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 13.
He had the game-high 30 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Arecibo in his team's victory, helping them to beat Aguada (#3, 9-8) 92-81. Capitanes maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Puerto Rican league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Arecibo will need more victories to improve their 12-4 record. McVeigh just recently signed at Capitanes, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Nebraska graduate has very impressive stats this year. McVeigh is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.4ppg) and averages solid 58.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last week was Darius Bazley (206-F-2000) of Leones de Ponce. He is American forward in his first season at Ponce. In the last game Bazley recorded an impressive double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Leones lost that game 85-90 to slightly higher-ranked Carolina (#3, 9-7). Ponce managed to keep the same 5th spot in Group B. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-11 record. Bazley is one of the most experienced players at Ponce and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Nathan Sobey (190-G-1990) of Indios de Mayaguez (#4). Sobey got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last week. Despite Sobey's great performance the Indios lost 80-81 to #1 ranked San German. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Mayaguez ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Sobey could help Mayaguez to bring them higher in the standings. Sobey has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.6ppg (2nd best) and assists with 9.0apg (2nd best).

7. Montrezl Harrell (203-C-1994) of San German - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Thomas Robinson (203-C-1991) of Quebradillas - 22 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Alexander Kappos (208-F/C-1997) of Caguas - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Carlos Emory (196-G/F-1991) of Quebradillas - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
